About Sex And The City in Paris
Sex And The City is an iconic HBO series set and filmed in New York City, USA for 6 seasons but the last two episodes were filmed in Paris, France.
In the Sex And The City (SATC) finale episodes, the protagonist and NYC-devotee Carrie Bradshaw, makes her dream move to the city of love with her Russian, artist boyfriend, Aleksandr Petrovsky.
I personally visited the Paris Sex And The City locations and put together this guide for you to see them too!

14 Sex And The City Paris Locations
This is Sex And The City and although Paris doesn’t live up to Carrie’s hopes, it’s still ever-so-glamorous. Read on for 14 places where they filmed Sex And The City in Paris.

Leave your Manolos at home, this is a bit of a walk around the city of lights!
As you can see, the Paris locations Sex And The City used are a bit spread out so I’ll list the Arrondissement (area) they’re located in under each heading.
There are 20 Arrondissements in Paris that start at the 1st and work clockwise in a snail-like shape around the city centre.
The list will be according to how they appear in the first Sex And The City Paris episode and then the second, ending at Pont des Arts (which happens to be my favourite SATC location).
Sex And The City Filming Locations: Episode 1
1) Hôtel Plaza Athénée (The Hotel Sex And The City Paris)
This is the first Paris place that we see in the episode An American Girl in Paris (Part Une) as it’s the hotel where Carrie stays during her time in Paris and sadly, spends lots of time because Aleksander leaves her alone so much.
As well as the exterior, they also use the hotel’s interior, suite and restaurant for filming scenes.

2) Eiffel Tower
SATC Scenes
- Carrie mentions driving past the tower during her entrance to Paris.
- When Carrie looks out of her hotel room balcony, she has an iconic view of the Eiffel Tower and she screams.
- Various shots throughout the episode (at night when Carrie waits for Aleksander for 10 hours and her dress is like a mille-feuille pastry).
- Seen in the background of Carrie and Aleksander walking into his exhibition.
Paris and the Eiffel Tower are synonymous so any TV show that use Paris as a filming location is going to use shots of the Tour Eiffel and mention it throughout.
Note: Do not listen to what Aleksander’s daughter says about the light show at night being hideous. I seen it while taking this night cruise of the Seine and the Eiffel at night is one of the best things I saw in Paris.

3) Christian Dior
Sex And The City Scene
Carrie decides that after a week in Paris, her French was good enough to go shopping so she heads to a designer store (of course). And she literally falls into the shop prompting her to spend a lot of Euros!

4) Allée du Séminaire Fountain
Sex And The City Paris Locations
The fountain can be seen in the background when Carrie calls New York City from a payphone (not there anymore, it’s not the 90s anymore haha) to tell her best friend that she lost her favourite necklace and how hard it is living abroad and she feels lost.
Carrie misses her friends, and thinks about Big, and Miranda tells her to just come home.
I really relate to Carrie in this scene as I’ve lived abroad a few times and know how it feels to be away even though it was our decision.

Sex And The City Filming Locations: Episode 2
5) Kong
SATC Scene
The opening scene to Sex And The City An American Girl in Paris (Part Deux) is filmed in Kong, a rooftop restaurant in the 1st Arrondissement where Carrie meets Aleksander’s ex-wife, Juliette. And Aleksander stands her up… again.

6) Cador Patisserie
SATC Scene
Carrie and Aleksander talk outside Cador before Alek leaves her alone once more. Carrie then heads inside the patisserie for allll the delicious French pastries, which she then shares with a dog.
Address: Cador is permanently closed but the location is found on 2 Rue de l’Amiral de Coligny in the 1st Arrondissement.

7) Rue Servandoni
SATC Scene
Rue Servandoni is where Carrie takes a stroll and is hit by a child before stepping in dog poop. This is one the Sex And The City Paris locations that is a gorgeous street to walk through (just watch where you’re walking)!
Located in the 6th Arrondissement

‘Oh, god’
8) Place Saint Sulpice
Paris Sex And The City Locations Scene
There is a public tap on this architectural structure in Place Saint Sulpice which Carrie uses to wash her shoes from the above dog mess. Directly next door is a dog park which makes sense!
6th Arrondissement
‘I’m in Paris. Don’t you worry about me’
9) Near Pont Neuf
SATC Scene
When Carrie is walking around Paris, she finds a bench on a small island on the River Seine that is next to Pont Neuf to eat her baguette.
A boat tour, Vedettes du Pont Neuf, which is the same company I used to tour the river, passes Carrie and a passenger films and waves at her and she looks so sad and out of place. It’s a sad scene amongst beautiful Paris.

10) Village Voice Bookshop
The Scene
Carrie, like all writers, loves a good bookshop. So when she looks inside Village Voice and sees her own novel in the window she pops in and meets some Parisian fans of her book.
They insist on throwing her a party and it looks like Carrie may have found some friends in the city.

11) Place Dauphine
Carrie and Aleksander walk together through this area of Paris and Carrie tells him about her French fans
Of all the Sex And The City film locations in Paris, this is one of the most scenic and quietest places to visit.
Île de la Cité, 1st Arrondissement
‘This is what I love about Paris. You never know where the day will lead you’
12) Jeu de Paume Museum
Jeu de Paume is the museum where Aleksander’s exhibition takes place with excellent views of the Eiffel Tower and Place de la Concorde.
While Carrie is sitting alone in the museum, after being coerced into missing her friends’ party, she finds her beloved Carrie necklace that reminds her who she is and leaves to head to the party.
Note: The French song playing when she leaves is brilliant. If anyone knows it, let me know!

13) Le Petit Auberge
The party is set at Le Petit Auberge on the Rue Saint-Andre des Arts but Aleksander makes her bail on her new friends to go to his thing (where he ignores her all night). When she leaves his museum to go to the restaurant, her party has left.

14) Pont des Arts
And this is the end of An American Girl in Paris Sex And The City locations because Big finally finds Carrie in Paris. She doesn’t need rescuing but they finally get together on this beautiful Parisian bridge.

This is also the And Just Like That (AJLT) filming locations in Paris when Carrie returns to Paris to say goodbye to Big on their bridge. It’s also the place where Carrie and Samantha text to meet up. So, full circle for SATC and AJLT cliffhangers.
