How To Get To Nightmare Prague Horror Bar

  • Walk outside Kampa Park so it is behind you and the river is to your left.
  • Turn right on to Ricni Street. Keep walking until you reach the park / steps.
  • Turn left on Ujezd Road.
  • Keep walking all the way down and you’ll find the horror bar on your right.

What To Expect & Do

Arrive at the dark and mystical doors before entering and taking the twisted stairs downstairs with walls adorned with classic horror posters of all the shocking films you can think of.  How many films have you seen from the posters? Have you read any of those based on books?

Enter the Prague horror bar with its dim red and black lighting, so hard to see everything which makes it that bit more scary before you jump out of your skin at the horrors in every corner you pass. Find a table and grab a menu to pick from one of the horror-themed drinks and cocktails.

This place is a live metal bar too (visit their website for events) and the music playing at the bar is rock and metal.

The bathroom is no escape from the terror with hanging props and a scary visitor in the corner.

Go around each of the rooms and areas to discover props, cut-outs and models of the cruel, taboo and sick movies that make millions. In addition, there are TVs set up in the booth area and around the bar showing clips, adverts and trailers from the best horror films.

Once you enter, you might never leave…

What to Order / The Menu

At the Nightmare Horror Bar Prague they have a long list of drinks and cocktails on a black and red menu all with clever puns and names of beverages. Shots include Spilled Guts Shot, Burial Ground and Crystal Lake. Cocktails include Leprechaun’s Rampage, Michael’s Knife, Demon of Amityville, Cursed Tape and Wrong Turn.

Average Horror Prague Bar Prices: Average 150 Koruna for a cocktail and 89 Koruna for a beer.

They also do monthly specials on the cocktails at a reduced price so definitely Czech that out (sorry, had to).

There’s lots of merchandise and gift vouchers for sale at the pub too which any horror fan will love to collect.

Referenced Films and Books in Horror Pub Prague

There’s so many memorabilia, references, posters, films, props and figures that it’s more of the horror museum Prague has than a bar!

Some of the best horror films and books you’ll find here include Saw, The Exorcist, Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Gremlins, Friday The 13th, The Conjuring, The Nun, Child’s Play, and of course, Nightmare on Elm Street.

Is it worth it?

Well, let’s just say that Stephen King would love it.

The Prague horror house is more than worth visiting even if you’re not a horror fan because a lot of the figures and references are so ingrained in pop culture, you’ll recognise them and you must appreciate the effort that has gone into this themed bar.

My partner is a huge horror fan so that’s why we went here but I’m a literary and film lover so this was right up my street too. (He was in heaven though, or should I say hell?)

Spooky Moment: We sat on table 13 (unbeknownst to us) and my small, glass water bottle which I’d carried with me on our Europe trip just fell off the table and smashed! :O

Other Places to Go in Prague

There’s lots to do in Prague like seeing the castle, walking Charles Bridge, visiting Jewish Quarter, finding the narrowest street in the city, eating delicious Czech food, trying local beer and visiting the square. Prague is an amazing city and I LOVED it both times I visited!
