There are certain things to do when planning our travels that we have to do such as getting there, where to stay, what to pack and what to do while there. This is a list of travel resources I use when planning my trips and I recommend you use too.

My Kindle Fire 7

I categorically do not travel anywhere without my kindle. I am a self-confessed ink-drinker! I have a degree in English Literature so I’ve always loved reading a book and defended the beauty of holding a book. Which I still, of course, love. But once I tried out a friend’s Kindle there was no going back. Owning a kindle is the best thing I’ve done for my reading and travelling (and money-saving too)!

I bought mine on Amazon here:

My Osmo Pocket!

Nothing has grabbed local and travellers’ attention more than my video/photo camera that’s the same size as my hand! DJI’s Osmo Pocket is the best gadget I’ve bought for travelling. For such a small device, it does incredible things! The picture is great, the sound is loud and the settings suit every scenario!

Go to the DJI website to find your perfect travel gadget.

Booking.com

Every time I book accommodation, I will use booking.com. I have booked every single hostel and hotel I’ve ever stayed in through this website because they are reliable, the reviews are always correct, the prices are reasonable and pictures/descriptions are always true.

Search for your accommodation using booking.com search box here:

Get Your Guide

When visiting a new place, especially a city, joining a group tour, booking a local class or having a private guide is always helpful to introduce you to that place. Get Your Guide is a trusted brand that has everything under the sun available for wherever you are staying from cooking classes to walking tours to specialised diving. Use Get Your Guide search box below to book your next tour:

12Go Asia

12Go Asia is a bus travel comparison website that allows you to book easy and cheap bus routes. This is a travel resource I use if I’m specifically in Asia because it is the best bus travel website to use in South East Asia. Book your bus travel below:

iVisa

I use iVisa search engines to research what type of visa I need to travel to different countries and how much they cost. iVisa then allows you to book through their site your visa so you know you’re going to get the correct (and valid) visa. Try for yourself below:

Travel Packing

Of course I take the same usual things on any kind of trip from long haul to UK staycations. The usual suspects in my travel bag along with the clothes are my kindle, universal plug adaptor, Osmo camera, travel wire organiser, toiletries including this Estrid razor, travel neck pillow, reusable cutlery, notebook and pen for journalling.

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is a MUST when you go on any trip. There’s no two-ways about it and I’m not going to explain why you need it, you NEED IT!

I use Coverwise for any of my trips and usually get Europe coverage annually.

For my long term trips I found the best deal was with Insure and Go because they covered my laptop, the fact I had no return flight and gone longer than a year.
